About Annalea

I’m Annalea, the artist behind Annalea Burnett Art. I’m based in Cornwall, where I paint playful, characterful pieces inspired by animals, the countryside and the little details that make country life feel so special.

I’ve always been a huge animal lover, especially dogs, so it probably isn’t surprising that animals have found their way into so much of my work. I love giving each one its own personality, whether that’s a Border Collie in sheep-covered wellies, a Highland cow in tartan boots or a slightly mischievous farmyard character.

My route into art wasn’t completely straightforward. I originally studied psychology, then went into project management in the NHS, but over time I found myself being drawn more and more towards painting and creating. What started as something I loved doing gradually became something I wanted to build into a business of my own.

I’m also a mum to twins, so life is usually a mixture of painting, printing, packaging orders and family chaos, but creating has become a really important part of who I am.

Every design begins as an original hand-painted piece before being carefully reproduced as an art print. I’m drawn to soft heritage inspired colours, painterly textures and subjects with a little humour and personality.

More than anything, I want my work to feel warm, joyful and a little unexpected, the kind of art that makes you smile when you walk past it and feels completely at home in a lived-in, characterful space.

Thank you so much for being here and for supporting my little creative business.
